My Hero

One day, a cute child was born to a poor mother, whose husband expired during her pregnancy. To the misfortune of the lady and her ill-health, the child came out of womb, lifeless. The new-born baby who has to be placed in mother’s lap was placed in a pot, ready to be forgotten forever. A man, who was the sibling of the lady came to visit her and found she wasn’t conscious yet. Being an Ayurvedic doctor, he asked the people there to let him look at the new-born, who laid bare in the pot. They brought the baby. He had a thorough inspection of the baby and placed the baby's legs in a cup of hot water. There was a sudden baby-cry and with that, came merriness all-around.

The delight lasted for only a few hours, and mother died of illness, before she could have a glance at and kiss her baby. The relatives, took the baby but didn’t know how to feed the baby, who needs to be breast-fed. They used to pour a drop of milk on the elbow of the baby and made him drink it. He got used to having fed milk like that. He studied well, with the help of relatives stood first in everything, established his own Accounts office and also worked as an accountant for Aayakar Bhavan. He got retired before 14 years and even now, when he needs to think over typical issues, he places his elbow at his mouth, and he says, he gets a perfect solution for every issue.

He’s energetic, dynamic, youthful and funny at an age of 74,too. And, he is the one who inspires me to do social service. Whenever I listen or see news, saying a baby was found alone in a bin or on a footpath, his life comes into my mind and I feel, something needs to be done from my part to prevent babies’ death due to improper care and because of being left and to make the abandoned babies feel there are people who love and care for them. The baby who inspired me is my Grandfather and I am proud to be his granddaughter. Love you soooo much grand pa for all your love and care towards me from my childhood. <3
